As our Congressman, John Kline, has said, "Elections matter." They do and for all of us in Minnesota, we have lost a truely honest man in the US Senate, with the decision by the MN courts that Norm Coleman lost the election last November.

The Powerline guys, Scott Johnson and John Hinderacker, wrote an excellent summary of the Coleman situation. Pathetic, yes but unfortunately, real. Scott's summary will be reviewed by all Republicans for 2010. John's comments about Republicans starting in a hole are true. A photo ID would be to everyone's benefit.

We have to realize that Democrats play hard ball, all the time. I did not agree with Senator Coleman on a number of issues but 65% of something is far better than 100% of nothing.

Norm Coleman is a first class act who truly believes in the Rule of Law, the Constitution, the incredible uniqueness of the USA, Minnesota and proper procedures (i.e. the decorum of the US Senate). It is unfortunate at best for the US Senate to lose a man of Norm Coleman’s integrity and stature. Both parties will lose as will the American people.
